Start with Prayer
Ask God to help you identify with persecuted Christians as you look through this Gift Catalog. Pray that He will help you understand the fear, loneliness, and pain they go through-if only to a small degree. Then let the Holy Spirit guide you to the gifts He wants you to provide for our brothers and sisters.

Review the Gifts
We have asked our brothers and sisters what they most urgently need-and you will see their requests on these pages. Because of our nearly 50 years of ministry experience and our extensive overseas network, we can ensure that these gifts will reach suffering Christians in spite of the physical and political barriers between us.

Order Your Selections
Once you have chosen the gifts you wish to provide, please indicate your selections on the enclosed order form. Total the cost of your gifts, and send a check for that amount to Open Doors in the enclosed envelope. If no order form is available, call Open Doors toll free at (1-888-5-BIBLE-5 (1-888-524-2535).

Keep Praying!
After you send your gift(s), keep praying to make them mighty weapons in the hands of our persecuted brothers and sisters. The special prayer requests throughout this catalog will help you do that. You may wish to keep these requests in your Bible or on your refrigerator as a reminder to pray.

Brother Andrew was quoted in the December 2003 newsletter as saying, "Our job is not to do for others what they can do for themselves, but to support and strengthen the church so it can carry on its own work of spreading the faith. I want to open the door the first time and then let others walk through it."

I (JesusIsLord.org, not Brother Andrew) used to be a fundraiser for a secular nonprofit organization. While the Holy Spirit does a wonderful job of providing funds where needed (as potlucks seem to turn out well, not all main dishes, not all salads, not all sweets, not all chips, not all soda), choosing to give where is most urgently needed gives the flexibility to meet a need as it comes up, long after the Gift Catalog has been produced. Please only do what you want.

I should add that JesusIsLord.org does not increase or decrease based on this page's existence or any gifts given to Open Doors. So far JesusIsLord.org is a tent-making ministry. "Wycliffe deparately needs over 100 teachers around the world to keep the work of Bible translation going. Tutors, itinerant teachers and boarding-home parents provide vital assistance to translators on the field who are home schooling their children...Terrorist attacks, wars, evacuations and a growing hostility toward Christians all contribute to major setbacks, both abroad and at home. Projects are being scaled back or put on hold, if not abandoned alatogether. Pray for the security of Wycliffe personnel overseas and for the Church at home. World Missionary Press Gift Ideas

1. The The Way to God for children is available in 95 languages 19 of which are online. My Bible Reading Book and Scripture Memory Book are available. He is Risen is in 13 languages and is "the only teaching tool a church overseas may have. Any gift towards publishing these and shipping them overseas in cost-effective containers would be appreciated by those who will someday lead the world.

2. Paper...One 35 inch-wide (1 m) roll of paper, weighing 1,500 pounds (682 kg), costs $900 (US) and produces 80,000 scripture booklets. Up to 25 people will read the same booklet! Is it possible that 2,000,000 people could benefit from a $900 donation? JesusIsLord.org Webmaster speaking..."What were you planning on doing with any part of that $900 that could go towards this? $10 could cover 889 booklets or possibly 22,222 people as it's being passed around. Would you trade $5 or a hamburger for 10,000 people reading the scripture to find Christ?"
