The dates are always December 27-31 at Edward Jones Dome and Americas Center in St. Louis, MO.

In 1973 I did not want to go but after celebrating Christmas, the Lord told me to go. I was able to secure a seat on a bus taking students from an eastern U.S. city to Urbana (the location at that time). It was wonderful! There were plenary sessions, small Bible studies in the dorm, cafeteria meals and people you had met before but never thought you would see again! Most people run from God because they are afraid of what he might ask them to do. I recommend running to God and offering yourself to whatever assignment in life he has for you. I make sure I tell God often I am willing to eat worms (some missionaries do) in order to bring the Gospel to every creature. So far he has not taken me up on it.

<img src="media/jesusisthevine.jpg" width=376" height="414">
Apart from Jesus we can do nothing (this tapestry hangs in the sanctuary of a church in San Ramon, California)

 John 15:1-6 (Amplified Bible) 1I AM the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. 2 Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit. 3 You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the word which I have given you [the teachings I have discussed with you]. 4 Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. 6 If a person does not dwell in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken-off] branch, and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and they are burned.

Last updated: 05/11/2012

Background Music: Shine, Jesus Shine

Words and Music: Graham Kendrick

Lord, the light of Your love is shining
In the midst of the darkness shining;
Jesus, Light of the World, shine upon us;
Set us free by the truth You now bring us
Shine on me, shine on me.

Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory;
Blaze, Spirit, blaze.
Set our hearts on fire.
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy;
Send forth Your Word Lord, and let there be light.

Lord, I come to Your awesome presence
From the shadows into Your radiance;
By the blood I may enter Your brightness
Search me, try me, consume all my darkness
Shine on me, shine on me.

Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory;
Blaze, Spirit, blaze.
Set our hearts on fire.
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy;
Send forth Your Word
Lord, and let there be light.

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness
So our faces display Your likeness;
Ever changing from glory to glory
Mirrored here may our lives tell Your story
Shine on me, shine on me.

Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory;
Blaze, Spirit, blaze.
Set our hearts on fire.
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy;
Send forth Your Word
Lord, and let there be light.
