Yesu ye Mukama

1 Abakkolinso 12:3 Luganda Bible

" Kyenva mbategeeza nga siwali muntu bw'ayogera mu Mwoyo gwa Katonda agamba nti Yesu akolimiddwa; so siwali muntu ayinza okwogera nti Yesu ye Mukama waffe, wabula mu Mwoyo Omutukuvu. "

Jesus is Lord

1 Corinthians 12:3 Amplified Bible

" 3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking under the power and influence of the [Holy] Spirit of God can [ever] say, Jesus be cursed! And no one can [really] say, Jesus is [my] Lord, except by and under the power and influence of the Holy Spirit. "

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:4 NIV

Public profession of faith in Jesus Christ by baptism

To contact a friend in Christ, Pastor Sserwadda Rogers, Kampala, Uganda, click here romwes@yahoo.com

One way to help Pastor Rogers is to contact World Missionary Press and order tracts in languages spoken where he ministers. I recommend ordering one or more boxes, 500 tracts each. He has said 65% of his ministry area needs tracts in Luganda. 35% need English. Since English tracts are readily available, he can use evangelistic ones of all types, anything you might be moved to send. Tracts in English from World Missionary Press are also fine. In addition he can use Runyankore-Rukiga and Runyoro-Rutooro, both available from World Missionary Press. When those needs are met, he ministers in other languages also.

I already called around and checked shipping costs. Using the U.S. post office, it cost me about $75 to mail 2 boxes taped together, 20 pounds. One box was about $57. I advise you have the tracts shipped to your address, take them to the post office, find the best deal, pull the tape out of your pocket and tape together the cheapest combination. You'll have to fill out a customs form and I suggest you take a sample tract out and tape it to the box. The U.S. Post Office promises delivery in 5-7 business days but Uganda Customs operates independently. Plan on 3-4 weeks for arrival to Pastor Rogers and his return email saying he got them. The mailing address is Pastor Rogers Sswerwadda Mwesigwa, Living Vessels Church, P.O. Box 16390 Wandegeya, Kampala, Uganda, telephone 071-853233. It's best to contact him via email above first, which he checks irregularly due to traveling and the cost of checking email.

World Missionary Press has its own printing schedule so it may take some weeks for specialty languages to be produced. Call them as soon as you purpose in your heart to order tracts.

If you know someone flying to Kampala who can take the boxes, Pastor Rogers can come to the Entebbe Airport, although it is expensive for him. Mercy Flight International flies ministry items via British Airways most weekends to Kampala. Arriving items would need to be picked up from the Entebbe Airport and the cost is about $1.80/pound to you and you will be billed later. Items would need to be mailed to the Mercy Flight International's New York address directly from World Missionary Press or wherever and a special Mercy Flight form filled out.

Using the postal service is simple for sender and receiver although it costs more. Mercy Flight is less costly for you but needs some coordination, especially at the Kampala end where resources are tight. Whatever you choose to do, you'll find it an adventure. Stretch your faith, trust the Lord to make it happen. You'll be quoting the first half of Isaiah 53:11: "He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied." It will be worth it! P.S. Used Bibles, commentaries, Bible dictionaries, Bible encyclopedia's, whatever you've got, throw it in too! They will get to the right place!
