Who am I?

JesusIsLord.org since 1996 and before the Internet existed what I had been doing for decades has been a tent-making ministry, although I am retired now. This has meant I've paid all the costs out of my income from my job. Many of my contacts were job-related though loosely through informal associations.

God has provided miraculously while one boss I had taught me to look for the $0 solution which I often have found.

In 2016 an accountant who was inspired by what I do set up a contractor account where by you can donate 100% tax deductable funds. I go about my days inspired by the Lord to do things and then I apply for the funds to cover expenses, usually past. I do not provide receipts at the time of the transfer of funds. Rather, I provide all the receipts to the IRS proving that I used the funds for an educational, religious or scientific purpose.

Of course, I am an evangelist so I am motivated to use the funds for the biggest impact to the lost alive on earth now.

I have been a born-again Christian since April 11, 1968 and a Spirit-filled believer since September 7th, 1969.

Since Spetember 7th, 1969 the driving force of my life has been to reach the world for Christ.

I have a strong presence online, I worked in ministry and technology for much of my life.

I operate as an independent called person. This means I do what I believe God tells me to do.

I am my own webmaster.

To keep me from major errors God had me study religion as an undergraduate (after engineering) and I have a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA, USA, 1976. So I spent 7 years just studying under recognized teachers plus reading the Bible devotionally daily.

I am a personal evangelist with a pastor's heart and the training a pastor pursues.

I lived in W Berlin 1965-66 as an exchange student and at one time was fluent in German. I studied Russian in W Berlin.

I lived in Israel 1985-86 and spoke Hebrew with moderate fluency.

I studied Greek and Hebrew in college and seminary as well as Spanish in high school.

At some point I realized no one can ever learn all languages or alpahbets so I could move forward with my vision if anyone could.

I totally believe a person needs a proper introduction to Jesus Christ in their own heart language also called their mother tongue.

I aggregate (combine) resources from multiple mission agencies; I do not produce them myself.

Therefore, I gravitate toward tracts (booklets), films, audio resources,Bibles, etc., created by experts (local speakers). I use my web pages to disperse them to be used by others with easy access.

The Internet is like the Wild West. A once thriving town can become a ghost town in a short time based on mining going bust, a train going through another town but not this one, or drought, etc. My thought is, when I leave a page, all the links may work. I may come back a short time later and a ministry has completely changed their links making all of mine "bad" (404).

I once had software that listed my bad links weekly so I could fix them quickly. Now I must check each link manually. So finding a bad link or many bad links could take months if I had time at all to check. Conservatively, I have at least 10,000 links.

How I handle it is to provide a HELP page that is updated more often so you can find a working link. I also provide as many links as possible for the Bible so if some go bad, there will still be others that will be good.

Some ministries will host a Bible translation and when someone else also hosts that language, they will abandon that language. This means hard-to-find Bibles in some languages become even harder to find when my link is abandoned by a ministry.

Unless you have a web team, having a web site is like running down a rock slide. Everything is moving. You do the best you can.

The good news is World Missionary Press and Campus Crusade for Christ are reorganizing their resources by language, which is what the Lord told me to do early on, one language per page. In 2017 I am having to reorganize JesusIsLord.org to match how they are now organizing their resources. This is what I did in my work life for over 20 years: adjust to changing technology and combine disparate systems to gradually replace legacy systems without the customer noticing.

It was a happy day for me when I no longer needed to solder. "Off the Shelf" resources and "Plug and Play" are wonderful phrases to me!

I started out programming in binary, 1's and 0's, then mnemonics (3 letter commands such as MOV for move), then HP Fortan (with binary, octal, hex), etc.

Programming web pages in html code is both easy and tricky, especially on a UNIX platform. I do it so I could be in an extremely sparsely populated area with the poorest PC and Internet and no software and I can still update JesusIsLord.org.

I do it also so someone just starting can easily reuse my code and start their own website. JesusIsLord.org started this way. The code was simple enough for me to adjust it! Welcome to JesusIsLord.org was created by backspacing! What energized me to start was Pat Robertson started a TV station and knew nothing about TV. I knew nothing about the Internet and never had my own computer but I started in confidence following his example. And you can follow me!

Praise

The Mountains Tremble

Did you feel the mountains tremble?
Did you hear the oceans roar?
When the people rose to sing of
Jesus Christ, the risen One.

Did you feel the people tremble?
Did you hear the singers roar?
When the lost began to sing of
Jesus Christ, the saving one.

And we can see that God You’re moving,
A mighty river through the nations,
And young and old will turn to Jesus,
Fling wide you heavenly gates,
Prepare the way of the risen Lord.

Chorus
Open up the doors and let the music play,
Let the streets resound with singing,
Songs that bring Your hope, songs that bring Your joy,
Dancers who dance upon injustice.

Did you feel the darkness tremble,
When all the saints join in one song?
And all the streams flow as one river,
To wash away our brokenness.

And here we see that God You’re moving,
A time of jubilee is coming,
When young and old will turn to Jesus, Fling wide You heavenly gates,
Prepare the way of the risen Lord.
