This link is here because I met them in Atlanta in 1996 (while I was working for YWAM at the Olympics) and emailed them in 2002 about the Salt Lake City Olympic Outreach. They emailed me back to get off the phone (Internet dial-up) as they were trying to call me. In very short order I found myself working with them in Salt Lake City! In Atlanta I slept on the floor of a church gym and got up at 4:30 am to walk, take the bus, take the subway and walk some more to work as a volunteer security guard in the Main Press Center under YWAM. In 2006 security arrived months before the Olympics started and they were all SWAT team members. This time I went as an entertainer. I slept on the floor in a church basement and walked and took the tram downtown. I was not able to go to Athens, however, I spent my 2 weeks of vacation updating JesusIsLord.org language pages so that they would be available in Athens during the Olympics. I caught her during her ride to JFK with the news!

Your church may have mission trips. The advantage is it's a turnkey operation with chaperones. They make sure all is well.

When God told me, "Go to Israel and it's not negotiable" I had to figure everything out amidst opposition. But it still worked out as God was with me.

You may have to eat things you've never eaten before!
